Vegetables
Vegetable crops demand continuous, balanced feeding. Urvar's program builds a rich root zone, sustains vegetative growth, and improves flowering and fruit set with boron and humic formulations.

Season schedule
What to apply, and when
Stage timing comes from agricultural-university research (cited). Doses are Urvar's own label doses, shown per katha with bigha and acre equivalents.
1 bigha = 20 katha (West Bengal) · 1 acre ≈ 60.5 katha
- 1
Before transplanting1
Field preparation
FYM and vermicompost are worked into the field at preparation, and bio-fertilisers are mixed into the soil before transplanting. In BCKV tomato trials, half the recommended fertiliser plus vermicompost, FYM and bio-fertiliser gave the highest yield and quality.

Enriched Vermicompost
Basal application before transplanting
25–35 kg per katha
500–700 kg per bigha · ≈ 1.5–2.1 t per acre
Label dose for Vegetables

PROM – Phosphate Rich Organic Manure
Basal application before transplanting
2–2.5 kg per katha
40–50 kg per bigha · ≈ 121–151 kg per acre
Label dose for Vegetables
- 2
One-month-old seedlings1
Transplanting
One-month-old seedlings are transplanted, with half the nitrogen and all of the phosphorus and potassium as a basal dose.
- 3
After transplanting1
Crop growth
The rest of the nitrogen is applied in two split doses after transplanting.

Humic Acid Liquid
Mix in 15–20 litres water per Katha
30–60 ml per katha
0.6–1.2 L per bigha · ≈ 1.8–3.6 L per acre
Label dose: foliar spray

Zinc EDTA 12%
Mix in 15–20 litres water per Katha
3–7 g per katha
60–140 g per bigha · ≈ 182–424 g per acre
Label dose: foliar spray

PROM – Humic Based Flowering Booster
Apply 10–15 days before flowering (label timing for flowering crops)
2–2.5 kg per katha
40–50 kg per bigha · ≈ 121–151 kg per acre
Label dose for Vegetables

Boron EDTA
Mix in 15–20 litres water per Katha
2–4 g per katha
40–80 g per bigha · ≈ 121–242 g per acre
Label dose: foliar spray
Deficiency guide
Spot it, fix it
General symptoms that apply across crops. Confirm with a soil or leaf test before treating.2
Growing points develop abnormally; the tips become stunted and die, and flowers and fruits may abort.

Upper leaves show interveinal chlorosis, eventually whitening. Leaves may be small and distorted, in a rosette form.

Growth is slow and stunted, and older leaves turn purple, especially on the underside.

Vegetables FAQ
Common questions
How do I convert a per-katha dose to bigha or acre?
Multiply by 20 for a West Bengal bigha (1 bigha = 20 katha), or by about 60.5 for an acre. Every dose on this page already shows all three.
Which Urvar products does the Vegetables program use?
Field preparation: Enriched Vermicompost, PROM – Phosphate Rich Organic Manure. Crop growth: Humic Acid Liquid, Zinc EDTA 12%. Flowering & fruit set: PROM – Humic Based Flowering Booster, Boron EDTA.
Can I get a plan for my own field?
Yes. Message us on WhatsApp with your district, field size and planting date, and our team will reply with a plan.
