Jute
Jute is West Bengal's leading fibre crop. Urvar's program builds soil organic matter at sowing and supports fibre development with humic acid through the growing season.

Stage timing comes from agricultural-university research (cited). Doses are Urvar's own label doses, shown per katha with bigha and acre equivalents.

Land preparation & sowing
In BCKV trials at Mondouri, jute was sown mid-April with line sowing at 25–30 cm row spacing and 5–7 cm plant spacing. All fertiliser was applied as a basal dose — there was no split top-dressing.

Fibre development
The best-performing nutrient schedule in BCKV trials (80:17.5:33.3 kg N:P:K per hectare) gave the strongest plant height, girth and dry matter.

Spot it, fix it
General symptoms that apply across crops. Confirm with a soil or leaf test before treating.4
Upper leaves show interveinal chlorosis, eventually whitening. Leaves may be small and distorted, in a rosette form.
Growth is slow and stunted, and older leaves turn purple, especially on the underside.

How do I convert a per-katha dose to bigha or acre?
Multiply by 20 for a West Bengal bigha (1 bigha = 20 katha), or by about 60.5 for an acre. Every dose on this page already shows all three.
